No official in Norway, and likely in the entire Western world, would understand why Espen Andersen Bråthen would consider the announcement that he was a Muslim to be a warning. They steadfastly refuse to consider the possibility that Islamic texts and teachings might move some Muslims to commit acts of violence and believe that when they do so, they are acting in a way that is pleasing to Allah. 

They fear that even to consider such a possibility, much less study it, would be “Islamophobic.” And so one thing is certain: there will be many more Espen Andersen Bråthens.
