Israel approves Lebanon deal; Lapid hails ‘recognition’ by enemy state

Cabinet unanimously votes in favor of agreement; Lebanese president signs letter confirming pact; prominent member of Hamas signals support; bilateral signing ceremony later today.

TOI reports that Israel on Thursday approved its US-brokered maritime deal with Lebanon, which Prime Minister Yair Lapid hailed as an enemy state’s formal recognition of the State of Israel.

Israel and Lebanon are technically still at war and the deal does not touch on the land border.

Not sure but there must be an "out clause" for Israel if Lebanon fails the pact in any way. Which I wouldn't doubt at all if they did. Hopefully, when they do it won't cost any Israeli lives.
