Hamas is reportedly watching the advancing US-Iran negotiations with growing concern, fearing that any regional understandings may focus on Lebanon, the Strait of Hormuz and Iran’s nuclear program — while leaving Gaza outside the deal.
According to the report, commentators in Gaza close to Hamas say the terror organization is worried about two parallel developments. The first is Israel’s new policy of gradually pushing into the “yellow line” in Gaza and expanding targeted eliminations of senior Hamas military officials.
Hamas believes this policy is being carried out with American backing.
The second concern is that the emerging understandings between Washington and Tehran may not include Gaza at all.
