Egypt’s persecution of Muslim defenders of Israel – and why we don't trust Cairo
The so-called “peace” we have with Egypt is nothing more than a hudna—a temporary truce meant to be broken when the time is right.
The Israeli newspaper Globes reported on Dalia Ziada, an Egyptian woman accused of spying for the Mossad. Her real “crime”? Publicly saying: “Egyptian and Israeli soldiers face each other at the border. A spark could ignite a conflict at any moment.”
After seeing the horrors of Hamas’ October 7 massacre, she turned to social media and the press to label Hamas a terrorist group and called on Arabs to support Israel. For this, she had to flee Egypt, fearing for her life, and now faces charges including treason.
