On August 25, 2024, the Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) announced the start of "Operation Herof" (Black Storm), marking a significant escalation in the ongoing conflict within Balochistan, Pakistan.

Balochistan, rich in natural resources but plagued by underdevelopment and allegations of human rights abuses, has been a hotbed of separatist movements seeking independence from both Iran and Pakistan for decades. 

The BLA, one of the prominent groups advocating Baloch independence, has historically engaged in guerrilla warfare.
