The Syrian army says it is closely monitoring developments along the Syria–Lebanon border following reports of Hezbollah reinforcements moving into the area.
In a statement, the Syrian military said it has observed the arrival of additional Hezbollah militia forces near the Syrian-Lebanese border and is currently assessing the situation. Syrian officials added that they are in communication with the Lebanese army and are considering what actions may be required in response to the evolving situation.
The statement stops short of confirming direct Syrian military involvement but signals that Damascus is actively evaluating its options as tensions increase along the border.
NEWSRAEL REMINDER: The new regime in Syria is Sunni and violently against Iran and Hezbollah who both fought on the side of the hated ex-Assad regime. Fighting against Hezbollah would be a natural act for them.
