South Lebanon activist Mahmoud Shouaib says residents can no longer endure Hezbollah’s reckless conduct, warning that men stayed behind to protect their homes from Hezbollah — not from Israel.
South Lebanon political activist Mahmoud Shouaib said in a video posted on June 8 that residents of villages in southern Lebanon “can’t take it anymore,” and that many are now openly demanding a ceasefire at any cost.
According to Shouaib, women and children were evacuated to safety, while men remained behind to protect their homes and property. He stressed that they did not stay to defend against Israel, but against Iran’s Hezbollah.
Shouaib said that clashes have erupted between local men and Hezbollah fighters, accusing the terror group’s “reckless” behavior of bringing Israeli strikes onto Lebanese villages. He added that Israel, unlike Hezbollah and Iran, issues warnings before attacks so civilians can evacuate.
