BREAKING: $3.7B Medicare fraud suspect extradited to US

The alleged organizer of one of the largest Medicare fraud schemes in US history has been extradited from Turkey to the United States.

The FBI announced Monday that Ibrahim Khaldoon Hilmi was transferred to US custody after being located in Turkey. Hilmi is accused of involvement in a massive Medicare fraud scheme estimated at approximately $3.7 billion.

According to reports, Hilmi fled the United States in May 2025 before he was arrested. Over the weekend, he was extradited to the US in an operation carried out by a special FBI task force.

The case is considered one of the largest fraud investigations ever involving the American healthcare system.
