Attached are the words of the commander of the 98th Commando division, Lt. Col. Dan Goldfuss, regarding the combat status of the withdrawal of the paratroopers from the Gaza Strip
"Paratrooper Brigade, be proud of the many achievements you have achieved, you have won everything, I am proud of you, you are mighty warriors.
We have not yet finished the war and our duties, we continue to dismantle Hamas, destroy its systems above and below ground, strike at it and defeat it.
But the mission is not over, and we have to bring home the hostages alive. We must kill or arrest the arch terrorists who are still hiding like mice in the dens in Khan Yunis.
We will continue to work hard, stubbornly and with determination in order to meet the task and prepare for the continuation of the tasks north or south and we will come precise and ready. To our enemy I say - we have patience and determination and will reach wherever you hide. You have nowhere to run.'
"For all those at home who want to know about our operation in Khan Yunis - every day we fight, every day we deepen the achievement, every day we make sure that a day like the seventh of October will not repeat itself.
Every day, fighters from different brigades go out on missions with determination, fortitude and unprecedented evil, they go out to fight and dislodge evil. These are the fighters, this is the generation.
This is our time to stand guard and not give up, not give in to any pressure. Be loyal to the way of warriors and win.
As Ben-Gurion said: "After all, if this terrible war has again been forced upon us, it is fitting that we win it."
