A number of Jews living in Germany reported that their homes were sprayed with graffiti of the Star of David against the backdrop of the war: "It's a punch to the stomach."
The German "Bild" website reports that several Jews living in Berlin found graffiti in the shape of a Star of David sprayed on the front door of the house or apartment building where they live.
One of the members of the Jewish community in Berlin, whose name was not published, told "Bild" that "I was sitting in the car with a friend yesterday. When we got home I saw the Star of David on the door and I got a huge shock. I called the police to report the graffiti, and they asked me to remove it myself."
The woman added that she knew that the graffiti was sprayed on her house because she is Jewish and does not hide her Jewish identity. "It's obvious that I'm Jewish because I have a mezuzah at the entrance to my house. Anyone who knows it can see at first glance who lives here. I speak Hebrew, make phone calls in Hebrew and wear a Star of David. I really thought about staying at home. I'm afraid because I can't appreciate the The level of escalation".
Another woman, Yael, also found a graffiti inscription in the shape of a Star of David on the door of her house. In an interview with "Zeman Israel" she said that "It's a punch to the stomach. The graffiti address undermines my and my son's security. And my children are in a completely public system, they speak German, most of their friends are German, not Israeli. We don't live in a neighborhood where we tell the children Not to speak Hebrew, but it came to that."
Other countries in the world have also reported a dramatic increase in the scope of anti-Semitic crimes and incidents since the outbreak of the Israel War, when in many countries the level of security around Jewish institutions and individuals has been increased.
