So, what happened in the weekend meetings in Tehran that led Trump to halt attacks on Iran?

The Sultanate of Oman proposed establishing a regional alliance to provide services in the Strait of Hormuz, similar to the one that exists in the Strait of Malacca.

The Omani proposal includes a mechanism for voluntary payments for services provided in the strait.
