VIDEO REPORT: US president Joe Biden meets Zelensky in surprise visit to Kyiv

US President Joe Biden reached Kyiv on a surprise visit ahead of the 1st year anniversary of Russia’s war with Ukraine.

Biden’s surprise visit came as he was travelling to neighbouring Poland to meet President Andrzej Duda. The visit, which had not been announced in advance for security reasons, is Biden's first trip to Ukraine since Moscow launched the war.

Zelensky said he and Biden spoke about “long range weapons and the weapons that may still be supplied to Ukraine even though it wasn’t supplied before”.

Biden got us shamefully out of Afghanistan only to get us in a “proxy war” with Putin. We spend billions of dollars on Ukraine, where their soldiers and the innocent are dying. It’s an endless war.
