The Israel Police reported that, as part of a nationwide operation to locate illegal residents and those who assist them – employers, recruiters and transporters, during the week, 440 suspects were arrested for the offense of illegal immigration and 62 suspects were arrested during the week for the employing, sheltering and transporting illegal immigrants.

Since the beginning of the year until today, 4,153 illegal residents of Israel have been arrested and 3,393 criminal cases have been opened. Also since the beginning of the year, 1,368 cases have been opened against suspects who transported, hosted, or employed illegal immigrants and 664 suspects have been arrested.
