The Action Group for the Palestinians in Syria has documented the disappearance of 3,076 Palestinian detainees in the regime's prisons since 2011, including children, women, the elderly, human rights activists, journalists, doctors, nurses and relief and humanitarian workers.
More than 3,000 Palestinian detainees disappeared in Assad's prisons
According to statistics, about 79% of the Palestinian victims who have died since 2011 are civilians, and 21% are military personnel of the Palestinian factions loyal to the regime.
The group stated that more than 4,214 Syrian Palestinians, including 3,271 civilians and 950 soldiers, were killed as a result of their participation in fighting in the ranks of Palestinian groups identified with Assad's forces, such as the Popular Front - General Headquarters, the Palestinian Al-Quds Brigade - Quds Brigade and the Free Palestinian Movement.
According to the group, the real number of detainees and those who were tortured is greater than what was recorded, this is due to the secrecy with which the regime maintains the names and details of its detainees, in addition to the fear of the victims' families announcing the death of their children because they were tortured for fear of prosecution by the security and intelligence services.
