NEWSRAEL: The worst thing about the possible Chemical weapons in Syria is that no one is really sure what is left and where they are.
US Ambassador to the UN, Linda Thomas-Greenfield, emphasized the need to secure and eliminate the remaining chemical weapon stockpiles in Syria, in line with the country’s commitments under the Chemical Weapons Convention and UN Security Council resolutions.
In her speech to the Security Council two days ago, the senior American official highlighted the importance of obtaining assurances regarding Syria's commitment to cooperate with the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) in this regard.
US Assistant Secretary of State for Arms Control, Deterrence, and Stability, Mallory Stewart, stressed the significance of this issue, noting that all countries that signed the chemical weapons treaty should be concerned about the management of Syria's chemical stockpiles.
