Following today's stabbing attack in London, the head of the Metropolitan Police delivered a striking admission about the reality facing Jews in Britain today.
“Too many Jewish people in this country feel they have to make choices that no other Britain ever has to make,” he said. “They have to make choices about how they dress, where they go — or how visibly they live their lives. That’s completely unacceptable and has gone on for far too long.”
The remarks highlight a growing climate of fear, where Jews increasingly feel unsafe expressing their identity openly in public.
At the same time, UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer described the incident only as “very concerning,” without referencing that the victims were Jewish or that the attacker was Muslim.
