‘Islamophobia’ has always been one big lie. The most notorious supposed cases of attacks on Muslims either turn out to be straight up hoaxes (e.g. Shamia Alawadi, the rash of hijab assaults) or general crimes having nothing to do with Muslims that are falsely misrepresented as anti-Muslim attacks (e.g. the Vermont shootings, the Chapel Hill shootings, Nabra Hassanen).
