Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s government scored record high numbers in a new poll, with his Likud Party winning 33 Knesset seats if an election were held now.
Together with his right-wing coalition, Netanyahu would control a total of 63 seats in the 120-seat parliament, according to Direct Polls, which conducted the survey for Israel’s Channel 14.

A News 14 poll published this evening (Thursday) in the main edition reveals the strengthening of the Otzma Yehudit faction and the Likud by one mandate, compared to a one-mandate decline for the Shas party.
The Likud faction rises to 33 mandates, the Democrats fall to 16, Yisrael Beytenu 15 and Shas 10. The state camp stands at 9, United Torah Judaism 8, Yesh Atid 7 and Otzma Yehudi climbs to 7. Religious Zionism, Ra'am and Hadash Ta'al each stand at five mandates. A third Arab party, Balad – only 2.2% and does not reach the threshold to enter the Knesset.

When asked about suitability for prime minister, 46 percent of those surveyed said they think Benjamin Netanyahu is suitable for the position, compared to 18% who say Benny Gantz is suitable. 36% said neither of them is suitable.
Between Netanyahu and Lapid, 47% believe that Benjamin Netanyahu is suitable for the position, compared to 22% who believe that Yair Lapid. According to the survey, 31% think that neither of them is suitable.
