Israel reportedly formed a secret elite intelligence task force after the Oct. 7 massacre with one mission: identify, track, kill or capture every terrorist who took part in the attack.
According to the report, the unit is known as NILI — a Hebrew acronym linked to the biblical phrase, “The Eternal One of Israel Does Not Lie.” It was formed by the Shin Bet and military intelligence after Hamas’s Oct. 7 invasion, in which terrorists murdered about 1,200 people and kidnapped 251 into Gaza.
The task force reportedly built a database of thousands of names, including Hamas Nukhba terrorists, commanders, gunmen and others who crossed into Israel or took part in the atrocities. Israeli officials said targets are approved only after at least two independent pieces of evidence link them to the massacre.
The intelligence effort reportedly uses facial recognition, videos uploaded by the terrorists themselves, intercepted communications, cellphone data, social media footage and interrogations of detainees captured during the war.
