One of the victims of the horrific terror attack at Bondi Beach in Sydney, Australia, discovered his Jewish identity just minutes before he was murdered and managed to put on tefillin for the final time in his life.

Peter Meagher, a former police officer and amateur photographer, met Chabad emissaries shortly before the Hanukkah event.

When they asked him whether he was Jewish, he replied that he did not know, but mentioned that his maternal grandmother had been Jewish.
