House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries refused to rule out another Democratic attempt to impeach President Donald Trump if his party wins control of the House in the 2026 midterm elections.
During an interview on NBC’s “Meet the Press,” Jeffries was asked whether Democrats would pursue impeachment after Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez accused Trump of violating the Constitution by launching military operations without congressional authorization.
“We haven’t ruled anything in and ruled anything out in terms of accountability,” Jeffries responded.
He then attempted to shift the discussion toward the economy, claiming that Democrats would focus on reducing living costs, creating good-paying jobs and making housing, health care and education more affordable.
