GAZA: Immediately after the attack began, tanks from Battalion 74 were the first to enter the area and started eliminating the terrorists with machine gun fire. One of the tanks managed to run over about 3 terrorists positioned on routes near the IDF camp.
This is not just another attack on a post in an attempt to kidnap soldiers. It is a well-organized attack with a rear command post and detailed planning carried out by at least a Hamas company or battalion framework. The assessment is that Hamas will try to harass Israel as we approach the Zero Hour of the IDF operational opportunities it identifies in the field (Amir Buchbut - Walla!).
AMIT SEGAL: This is exactly what will happen if Israel accepts the capitulation proposal and withdraws to the Gaza perimeter.
Kidnapping attempts will continue, and at some point they will succeed, because if holding an Israeli captive can deliver strategic gains, then accepting the proposal will not end the tragedy of the hostages—it will only open a darker, more tragic chapter.
