The expected visit of Secretary of State Rubio tomorrow is not only a continuation of the American pressure to maintain the ceasefire, but also a continuation of the covert primaries already underway within the Republican Party regarding Trump's future succession.
The second apparent heir, at least for now, is Vice President Vance. When Witkoff is around, Rubio doesn't mind, because Witkoff doesn't threaten him politically; but when Vance tries to take part of the political pie from him - that's a different story.
In Jerusalem, by the way, they like Vance, but are keeping their fingers crossed for Rubio - the first respects us intellectually, the second loves us from the heart; and in the end, maybe, as often happens, the whole pot will be taken by a third candidate whom we still have no idea who he is.
