Israel’s leaders told the IDF to act immediately against hostile activity in the security zone and protect northern communities from any emerging threat.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Israel Katz held a security assessment with IDF Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir and Northern Command chief Maj. Gen. Rafi Milo, during which they issued updated operational instructions for IDF activity in southern Lebanon.
The directive comes amid continued tension along the northern border and focuses on maintaining Israel’s freedom of action in the security areas established in South Lebanon. According to the instructions, IDF commanders in the field have full operational authority to respond quickly to any hostile figure, terrorist movement or suspicious activity that could endanger Israeli forces or northern communities.
The message from Jerusalem is clear: Israel will not allow Hezbollah to rebuild deterrence or test the border through gradual violations. The IDF has been instructed to enforce the security perimeter firmly and to act immediately against any threat before it develops into a direct attack.
