Is Jordan on the eve of a civil war after which King Hussein will be deposed?

Last Sunday, August 13, the former commander of the Jordanian army, retired Major General Mahmoud Farihat said, during a speech he gave on behalf of his clan in Jordan's Ajalon province, about the possibility that Jordanians would seek refuge in Syria in the event that a civil war breaks out in the country.

Frihat said that if the Jordanians go west towards occupied Palestine, Benjamin Netanyahu will slaughter them, and if they go south towards Saudi Arabia, the latter will not allow them to enter, which will cause them to die of thirst in the desert.

He then clarified that in relation to Syria, Bashar al-Assad's regime is the most dictatorial and unjust regime, and has committed crimes over the years with the help of Iran, Russia and the Lebanese Hezbollah.

He pointed out that the Jordanians will not go to war-torn Syria, where there are dozens of armed factions, considering that the situation in Iraq is not much different from Syria.

Major General Mahmoud Farihat served as Chief of Staff of the Combined Forces (Army Commander) between 2016 and 2019.

Several questions:

Is a civil war between the Palestinian majority in Jordan, who make up about 80 percent of the population, and the Bedouin minority, which holds the power of the state, headed by the Jordanian king, a clear and immediate danger?

It is not clear what background the former Chief of Staff of the Jordanian Army was talking about when he raised the possibility of a civil war inside Jordan that would cause the Bedouin tribes, of which he is one, to flee for their lives and seek refuge outside the country's borders?

Does the former Chief of Staff really believe that Jordanians who try to find refuge in Israel will be slaughtered by the IDF? He knows Israel very well!

Does the former Jordanian Chief of Staff believe that in the event of a civil war in his country, under certain circumstances, the US and the West will not intervene and let the majority of the population have their say and rule the country according to the principles of democracy that guide Western countries?

The Jordanian minority that controls the country estimates that Iran is behind the Palestinian activities in Jordan and is helping them with the help of Hezbollah and the Iranian militias on the Syrian-Jordanian border, and that an attempted coup in Jordan is no longer a theoretical question.
