The son of Iran’s last shah, Reza Pahlavi, said in an interview on Fox News that the goal of the Iranian opposition is not only to liberate Iran, but to put an end to a regime that has harmed the entire world.
Pahlavi said the Islamic Republic has “spread evil globally” through terrorism, regional destabilization, and repression at home. He stressed that a future Iran would seek peaceful and constructive relations with Israel, Arab neighbors, and the international community, presenting a vision of Iran as a responsible and cooperative state rather than a source of global threats.
His remarks come as growing protests and internal pressure continue to challenge Iran’s ruling clerical regime, with opposition figures increasingly framing regime change as a global security and moral imperative—not just a domestic Iranian issue.
