President Trump ended the speculation and posted his message in unmistakable terms: He called for Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Pakistan to join the Abraham Accords.
“The negotiations with Iran are progressing nicely! It will be either a great deal for everyone, or no deal at all — a return to the front lines and shooting, but with more power than ever before — and nobody wants that.
During my Saturday discussions with Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Pakistan, I declared that after all the work done by the United States to try and piece together this very complex puzzle, it must be binding that all these countries, at the very least, sign the Abraham Accords simultaneously.
It should start with the immediate signing by Saudi Arabia and Qatar, and all the others should follow their lead. If they don’t, they shouldn’t be part of this deal, because it shows bad intentions. In my talks with many of the great leaders mentioned above, they said they would be proud, once our document is signed, to see the Islamic Republic of Iran as part of the Abraham Accords. Wow — now that would be something special! It would be the most important agreement ever signed by any of these great nations, which have always been in conflict.
