After nearly three months of internet darkness, Iranians are again reconnecting to the outside world — and the first images emerging show exactly why the Islamic regime cut them off.
In footage now circulating, Iranians are seen celebrating after the elimination of Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei in the joint Israel-US operation.
The regime tried to hide the reaction from the world, but the return of internet access is exposing what Tehran feared most: many Iranians did not mourn the fall of the man who ruled them through terror, repression and fanaticism. Reuters reported that Iran ordered international internet access reopened after an 87-day blackout, imposed during anti-regime unrest and then extended after the Israel-US strikes.
For years, the Islamic regime presented itself as the voice of the Iranian people. But the videos coming out of Iran tell a very different story. Behind the censorship, arrests and propaganda, many Iranians saw the elimination of Khamenei not as a tragedy — but as a moment of hope after decades under a brutal regime. Reuters reported in February that Khamenei was killed during the US-Israel strikes on Iran.
