A figure that clarifies just how worried the Lebanese are
Doron Peskin, Middle East Expert 30.07.2021
The demand for a passport in Lebanon is currently at an all-time high. According to the data, there are about 7,000 requests for passports a day, when before the current crisis the demand for passports reached 300 a day.
The large increase is explained by the desire of more and more Lebanese to leave the country and look for work and life outside it due to the severe economic crisis. Another more marginal reason for the increase in demand is the Lebanese's fear that after the formation of the government, the prices of issuing passports will be raised, so they prefer to buy at today's prices.
