LOS ANGELES, June 9, 2025 — What began as ICE enforcement actions at several locations in Los Angeles—including a Home Depot, clothing warehouses, and the Metropolitan Detention Center—quickly spiraled into violent unrest.
LATEST UPDATE: Police have successfully pushed protestors off the 101 Freeway and back onto the streets in Los Angeles, CA. Traffic is reopening — but the situation is still tense.
Foreign flags, foreign agendas
Footage from downtown LA and Paramount shows protest leaders waving Mexican, Burkina Faso—and notably, Palestinian—flags amid confrontations. That presence makes clear the riots are less about protecting local immigrants and far more about advancing a radical globalist agenda. Pro-Palestinian agitators used the chaos to inflame tensions, linking mass-immigration enforcement with anti-Israel rhetoric.
“Perfect propaganda for Trump”
As one dirt-bike rider circled a burning car while waving a Mexican flag, commentators called it “perfect propaganda” for President Trump—highlighting both lawlessness in sanctuary cities and the urgent need for stronger border policies.
Trump’s decisive action
In response, President Trump federalized the California National Guard, deploying 2,000 troops under the Insurrection Act without waiting for state approval. He declared he would “send whatever is needed” to restore order. Acting ICE officials emphasized that the raids focused on violent offenders and that enforcement would continue without hesitation.
White House adviser Stephen Miller labeled the riots “insurrectionist” and called for mass deportations. Trump allies across the country voiced support, pointing to the dangerous overlap between open-border policies and radical foreign agitators.
Local officials push back
Governor Newsom and Mayor Karen Bass condemned the National Guard deployment as inflammatory, but critics argue their sanctuary city stance helped fuel the chaos in the first place.
