A spokesman for the Iraqi Ministry of Defense announced today, that an attack by three UAVs on the Baled air base has been thwarted.

The spokesman said in a statement that three UAVs approached at dawn, today, the southern area of Iraqi Air Force Base - Baled in Salah al-Din province.

The spokesman noted that the same planes were seen with the naked eye by the force entrusted with the protection of the base and stationed on the outer guard towers and he was the one who made sure that they were enemy planes.

The force opened fire on planes that had escaped from the area, according to the Iraqi Ministry of Defense.

This attack just after residents of the Green Zone in Baghdad, the headquarters of the diplomatic missions and the headquarters of the Kurdistan Democratic Party led by Massoud Barzani and the headquarters of Muhammad al-Halbussi's party in the capital were attacked.”

It should also be noted that the Iraqi Air Force - Bled base has the largest concentration of American forces in the country and thus Iran is trying to signal to the Americans that any American target, no matter how large, is a legitimate target to hit by it, and does not shy away from attacking there either.
