Lebanese journalist Rami Naim called for dramatic and unprecedented military action against Hezbollah, urging that Syrian forces enter Lebanon if the government fails to confront the terror group.
Speaking in a televised interview, Naim said Syria’s army has already “tasted bitter defeat” from Hezbollah and should now move to eliminate what he described as the “cancer” of the organization inside Lebanon.
Naim further escalated his rhetoric by suggesting that Lebanon cooperate with Cyprus to carry out airstrikes on Hezbollah’s stronghold in Beirut’s Dahiyeh district. He stressed that, as a Lebanese citizen, his top priority is removing Hezbollah, which he said continues to pose a major threat to Syria and Lebanon alike.
NEWSRAEL: WHY THIS IS IMPORTANT:
This statement reflects a deepening divide within Lebanon, where voices are increasingly willing to call for extreme measures—even foreign intervention—to counter Hezbollah’s dominance. It highlights the level of frustration among some Lebanese figures who see Hezbollah not just as a political faction, but as a destabilizing force that has dragged the country into regional conflicts.
