A new poll suggests that tens of millions of Americans now view communism favorably, with support strongest among students, young adults and postgraduates.
More than three decades after the collapse of the Soviet Union, communism is enjoying an alarming revival in the United States.
According to polling analyzed by Daniel Greenfield, 43% of American students hold a favorable opinion of communism, compared with only 29% who view it unfavorably. Among Generation Z, roughly one-third express support for the ideology, while another third oppose it.
Greenfield estimates that approximately 25 million Americans hold a “very favorable” view of communism. When those who describe themselves as “somewhat favorable” are included, the figure could reach roughly 60 million.
