A dramatic escalation in Mexico’s cartel wars was recorded as members of the “United Cartels” (Cartel R5) launched drone-dropped explosives on rival gunmen from the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG) in the Michoacán–Jalisco region.
The attackers used DJI Mavic and Matrice drones modified to carry improvised explosive devices, dropping them from above with growing precision — a tactic that has spread rapidly among criminal groups across Mexico.
