NEWSRAEL: All these plans the world is putting together forget one issue: Israel. They won't work without Israel getting what it wants.
In the Saudi plan to stop the war in Gaza is the exile of Hamas commanders.
Today, a French newspaper published details of a Saudi document submitted to the French Foreign Ministry, which contained a plan to end the war in Gaza.
At the center of the plan - the transfer of the military leaders of Hamas to Algeria. The newspaper reported that the document was prepared by a Saudi research center, and was updated after a meeting held on November 19 in Riyadh with Anne Groux, head of the North Africa and Middle East department at the French Foreign Ministry.
The document was then forwarded to the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The newspaper noted that the exile of Hamas leaders to Algeria refers, first and foremost, to the leader of the military wing, Muhammad al-Daif, and the leader of the organization in the Gaza Strip, Yahya al-Sinwar.
The choice of Algeria as a potential destination for Hamas leaders stems from its good relations with Qatar and Iran, which are considered Hamas' sponsors, and because of the propaganda that it would be able to "control" their activities.
The newspaper talked about other points raised in the draft Saudi plan, including the placement of Arab peacekeeping forces in Gaza, as part of a UN mandate, and the establishment of a "joint transition council", which includes the main factions in Gaza (Hamas, Islamic Jihad, and Fatah), which will be responsible for managing the Strip for a period of four years and organizing presidential and parliamentary elections.
