Yemen’s Interior Minister Ibrahim Aidan revealed to Asharq Al-Awsat that the Houthis are trying to transfer part of their operational activity to Aden’s airport, following Israel’s strike that disabled the airport in Sanaa.
According to Aidan, this shift is part of a broader Houthi strategy to maintain logistical and intelligence routes despite increased regional pressure.
He added that Yemeni forces opposing the Houthis have arrested several Hezbollah members, as well as Iranian and Syrian nationals, accused of smuggling drugs, conducting espionage, and working on behalf of the Houthis.
The arrests, Aidan said, highlight the growing involvement of foreign operatives in Yemen’s conflict and the deepening alliance between the Houthis, Hezbollah, and Iran.
