The Israeli Foreign Ministry has sent out this travel warning: As of this morning, thousands of Sri Lankan citizens are protesting in the capital Colombo over the country's economic situation. Thousands have broken into the president's house and the situation is not stable at the moment.

We again recommend that Israeli citizens consider arriving in the capital of Sri Lanka, Colombo.

For those in Colombo, please obey the security forces and instructions and stay away from the protest areas in the city.

Israeli citizens who plan to fly to Sri Lanka are advised not to make non-essential trips to Colombo until the situation clears up and the stability and calm return to the Sri Lankan capital.
