The raid on the terror hotspot took place shortly after Israel forces on Monday thwarted a major terrorist attack on central Tel Aviv, apprehending a terrorist from Jenin on his way to the city armed with weapons and explosives.

Muhammad Jaber and his accomplice were killed by the IDF’s Duvdevan undercover counterterror unit in Zeita, near the security barrier.

The terrorist was carrying in his backpack an improvised explosive device weighing 20 kilograms (44 pounds), capable of killing and wounding dozens in a crowded area,Kan News reported on Tuesday.

“We were able to prevent a significant attack that could have drastically altered the situation in the West Bank and the heart of the country during Ramadan, potentially causing the death of many,” a high-ranking Israeli security official told Ynet on Tuesday.

Since the start of the war on Oct. 7, a total of 3,500 wanted persons have been arrested in Judea and Samaria, including more than 1,500 affiliated with the Hamas terrorist organization.

Soldier summoned for questioning after 13-year-old shot in Shuafat

An Israeli Border Police officer was summoned for questioning by Military Police after a 13-year-old boy was shot during clashes in the eastern Jerusalem neighborhood of Shuafat on Tuesday night, later dying of his wounds.

According to police, a Border Police force opened fire after being attacked with fire bombs and fireworks.

“We strongly condemn the exploitation of Ramadan by lawbreakers, rioters and violent disruptors who attempt to harm security forces or civilians,” said police.

Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir said in response to the incident, “I support the Border Police fighters who are operating at this time and are now risking their lives against dozens of Arab rioters. I salute the fighter who killed the terrorist who tried to shoot at him and the forces with fireworks—this is exactly how you should act against terrorists; with determination and precision.”
