Yemeni National Resistance Forces said they intercepted and seized a wooden boat carrying hazardous chemicals and military equipment bound for Houthi-controlled Hodeida after tracking it through the Bab al-Mandeb Strait.
The forces reported that the vessel was monitored from its entry into the strait on October 9 and was towed to a secure location where the cargo was unloaded and stored pending investigation.
The seized materials included 24 drums of the polymer phenol-formaldehyde — a substance used in producing missiles, drones, and stealth components — as well as lab suits, masks, helmets, diving gear, and rolls of camouflage fabric, indicating the shipment’s military nature.
The operation was part of a wider maritime security campaign to secure the Red Sea and Bab al-Mandeb and follows several recent interceptions of weapons and contraband shipments.
