Major General Uzi Dayan warned that the current US-Iran ceasefire arrangement could leave Israel exposed to renewed attacks by Iran and its terrorist proxies.
He said Israel must respond immediately if attacked and cautioned Washington against signing an agreement that fails to dismantle Iran’s nuclear and long-range ballistic missile programs.
Dayan also argued that Israel must remain in southern Lebanon until the Lebanese government proves it can impose sovereignty and confront Hezbollah. In Gaza, he called for complete Israeli control and proposed establishing a major American military base there.
On another subject, Dayan warned that Erdoğan is seeking to build a new Sunni axis led by Turkey, potentially involving Egypt and Saudi Arabia, that could pose another strategic threat to Israel and Jordan.
