Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi has arrived in Beijing with a large delegation for a three-day trip to China. According to the Chinese foreign ministry, the Iranian president was invited by Xi Jinpin

Raisi’s visit to Beijing is his first state visit to China and also the first by an Iranian president in 20 years. Raisi’s visit comes at a time when Russia’s war in Ukraine has further drifted Iran and China away from the US-led West.

The current expansion of ties between China and Tehran are likely going to leave the US more concerned.
