Actor Gary Sinise says leaving California for Tennessee was not just a lifestyle decision — it was a financial and family decision.
The “Forrest Gump” star said that after stepping away from acting in 2019, while his family was facing serious challenges, he began thinking about how quickly his savings would disappear if he remained in California.
He cited high gas prices, property taxes, and the overall cost of living as major reasons for leaving the state.
Sinise said that in Tennessee he found gas prices far lower than in California and appreciated living in a state with no income tax. His point was simple: after years of working, he did not want his money going out the door faster because of state costs.
