Police suspect that the weapon with which a resident of Jaffa threatened in his 20s this week, on passers-by on the promenade in Tel Aviv, is of the "Airsoft" type - an air rifle that is sold online and can become a firearm that leads to murder in seconds. This is one of a series of cases of rising crime in the Arab street, in which this type of weapon is used illegally for anyone demanding and roams freely.
Meanwhile, guns, grenades, explosives, and bullets have become a basic consumer product in impact organizations but not only. Frightened civilians also arm themselves with weapons to protect themselves. The growing demand for weapons in recent years has led to the improvisation of weapons and their sale to anyone who demands them at a reduced price.
Just this week, Tel Aviv stormed after a Jaffa resident in his twenties who belongs to one of the criminal organizations in the city, threatened passers-by on the promenade with a weapon, and was arrested by the police.
