A Lebanese news website reports that steps have begun in Syria to establish a new army. 

According to this report, in the first phase, the Syrian army will include seven divisions based on fighters from the jihadist organizations that brought down the Assad regime. In the next phase, there is an intention to establish more divisions, but this depends on the new regime's ability to govern and its success in reaching agreements with the Kurds and Druze.

According to the Lebanese website, the Syrian army will number about 300,000 people.

For the purpose of establishing the army, a special committee has already been established that is supposed to seize weapons found outside the state and transfer them to the new army.
