A new survey in Lebanon reveals a dramatic surge in support for a peace agreement with Israel: from only 25% in August 2025 to nearly 49% today. Support for full normalization also jumped from 13% to over 30%.
After years of wars, economic collapse, destruction in the south, and waves of displacement, a narrative has emerged that more and more Lebanese are beginning to understand that the price of the “axis of resistance” has actually become unbearable.
Perhaps the most significant figure - about half of the Lebanese now support direct negotiations with Israel.
Among Maronites, Druze, and Orthodox Christians, support already reaches 72%-78%. Interestingly, the Orthodox community, which for years was considered the most identified with the Palestinian issue, is undergoing a sharp shift.
