A new report details how Hamas commanders kept the mission from their troops until just a few hours before the attack.
The British newspaper The Guardian on Tuesday published new details about how Hamas conducted its murderous attack against the towns surrounding Gaza on October 7.
According to the report, the thousands of terrorists who participated in the attack received their precise operation orders only at 6:00 in the morning. Before that, the full plan was not revealed.
It was also reported that the terrorists, who took part in many practices, received a message around four in the morning that they must go pray in the mosque and then return to their homes, collect the weapons and ammunition they had prepared, and arrive at assembly points. Even then, the newspaper claims, the obscurity continued and the terrorists did not know exactly what action they were going to carry out.
Only when the terrorists arrived at the assembly points - and some even brought friends and relatives with them - did they receive more significant weapons from senior commanders such as machine guns, explosives, rockets, antitank missiles, grenades, and sniper rifles.
The full order for the shocking massacre was given around six o'clock in the morning. The terrorists were required to blow up the fences and go on an indiscriminate killing spree inside Israel to harm as many soldiers and civilians as possible and kidnap others.
One Hamas unit was ordered to attack the IDF bases near the border with Gaza and the residents of the nearby towns. Another unit was entrusted with a defensive mission - to ambush the IDF forces that would try to approach the border. The third unit was given a targeted mission to kidnap civilians and soldiers and bring them into Gaza where they would be handled by a fourth unit prepared for this purpose in advance.
The newspaper further reports that the terrorists had very detailed maps of points where Israeli forces were deployed, as well as precise information on where to go in each locality.
