Trump and Venezuela 06.09.2025
Is the U.S. preparing for an invasion of Venezuela?
The U.S. military is carrying out one of its largest exercises in the Caribbean in years, sparking speculation about its intentions toward Venezuela.
According to Arroyo mayor Eric Bachier Román of Puerto Rico, the drills are on a scale "we have not seen in a long time — it’s massive."
More than 4,000 Marines and sailors are participating, supported by amphibious assault ships such as the USS Iwo Jima and F-35 fighter jets. Officially, the Pentagon says the goal is to boost readiness and improve counter-narcotics operations.
The timing has fueled concerns in Caracas, where President Nicolás Maduro faces mounting international pressure and economic collapse.
