Tommy Robinson says he has left the United Kingdom indefinitely after being warned that his name appeared in a publication linked to Islamic State.
In a public statement, Robinson said intelligence indicated he was referenced in what he described as an ISIS-linked magazine similar to Al-Qaeda’s Inspire publication. Citing fears for his family’s safety and the risk of being targeted by extremists, he said remaining in the UK would endanger both himself and those around him.
Robinson, a long-time critic of radical Islam and controversial figure in British politics, did not disclose his current location. UK authorities have not publicly commented on the specific threat, though security services have in the past warned that extremist propaganda can incite lone-actor attacks against named individuals.
The development comes amid ongoing tensions in Europe over jihadist threats, domestic security concerns, and debates surrounding free speech and political activism.
