Nine months after the fall of Bashar al-Assad and the rise of a transitional government under Ahmed al-Sharaa, human rights abuses persist across Syria.
The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights reported on Monday that more than 3,000 people have been executed without trial by security forces and allied militias since December.
In total, 10,672 deaths were recorded due to violence and abuses between December 8 and September 6, including 8,180 civilian fatalities, among them 438 children and 620 women.
The watchdog noted that the peak of killings came in March, when 1,726 executions occurred, many targeting Alawite civilians in coastal regions. Amnesty International has also documented fresh evidence of executions of Druze in Sweida in July, allegedly by government forces and their affiliates.
