For the first time, Jordan officially responded to reports that it is part of a "land bridge" together with the Gulf states that is intended to help Israel.
In recent weeks, large demonstrations were held in Jordan against the existence of the "land bridge" that helps Israel transport goods. The demonstrations came due to publications in Jordan regarding the existence of such a bridge.
The Prime Minister of Jordan, Bisher Al Hassouna, today denied the existence of the "bridge", the purpose of which is actually to bypass the Houthi attacks on ships carrying goods to Israel through the Red Sea:
"There is no land or sea bridge from Jordan [to Israel], and the transport arrangements to Jordan And there have been no changes from it for more than 25 years," said the Jordanian Prime Minister.
